Kenya...
Just landed in Kenya. We slept all the way from London to Kenya except the last two hours. We missed eating a hot lunch but that's ok we got some good rest. We sat next to this lady from Kenya on the airplane who was extremely nice. She gave us African bracelets before we got off the plane. Thank you God for the people you place in our paths. On our way to Entebbe Uganda. There we are supposed to rest but we are WIDE AWAKE!

London

Thanks to prescription drugs we slept like a baby from Dallas to London. Just landed in the beautiful UK. Wouldn't mind spending a few hours wandering the streets of London. Grabbed a sandwich and drinks that we have never heard of... Hopefully they taste good. Off to Nairobi Kenya.

Well, here we go! Loaded up, bellies full of Blue Mesa (a lil Tex Mex before we go), and grinning from ear to ear. We're so excited! We really appreciate all our loved ones who have been praying for us. Everything has gone as planned so far.  I have a good book in hand (thank you mommy) and Trey has CDs of lectures from school to listen to you. First stop is London...here we go! Alice and Trey

It's almost time...

Well, we are almost completely packed and ready for our voyage to Sudan and we are extremely excited. Thanks to everyone who donated things for us to give away to the people of Sudan: Finger puppets, lollipops, bubbles, watches etc. Thanks also, to our local doctors for donating all of the prescription drugs to us for the clinic in Yei.

We have been praying and fasting for this trip. Our prayer has been that we are able to show and Experience the Faith, Hope and Love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ wherever we go. Please join us in this prayer.

These are the boxes and boxes of donated prescription drugs given to us by some of our local doctors. This will be a major blessing to the Yei Clinic.

These are the cool watches that were donated to us from our good friends at Pamela's Store in Coppell, TX. The watches are digital. They will love these!

These are the finger puppets donated from students in our middle school ministry...The kids will love these!

These are more of the lollipops, ring pops, bubbles, candy, toys etc that were donated by some of the students in the middle school ministry...

More photo's to come...

Preparing for our trip...

We officially have 9 days before we leave on our trip to Yei, Sudan and we our extremely excited! Here is a little background information on Sudan, as well as more about what Alice and I will be doing.

Northern and Southern Sudan have been in civil war for over 50 years.  Roughly 1.9 million civilians have been killed in southern Sudan, and more than 4 million southerners have been forced to flee their homes at one time or another since the war began. The civilian death toll is one of the highest of any war since World War II. The conflict officially ended with the signing of a peace agreement in January 2005.

Southern Sudan will hold an independence referendum on whether or not it should remain as a part of Sudan in January 2011. A simultaneous referendum will be held in Abyei(North Sudan) on whether to become part of Southern Sudan. Many believe that this referendum will cause another war in February 2011. As a result the U.N, President Obama, Former President Clinton and many other international leaders and icons have stepped up to show their concern and support for peace in Sudan.

Alice and I are going to Sudan with a team of pastors, doctors, nurses from our church (Irving Bible Church) for numerous reasons. The main reason is to be the hands and feet of Jesus to Southern Sudan.

Alice will be using her medical knowledge to help with a clinic in Yei, Sudan that our church supports. This clinic is one of a few clinics in Southern Sudan. We have been told that people walk for days to recieve medical care from this clinic.

I will be preaching at a church in Sudan, as well as beginning the process of supporting, encouraging and developing youth pastors in Yei, Sudan.

Please be in prayer for our journey...We will be updating this page with entries and photos during our journey.
